Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) also known as microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment to rejuvenate the skin. A device with fine needles creates tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin, which triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin. Results can include improved texture and firmness, a reduction in pore size and scars including acne scars and stretch marks. This treatment is safe for all skin colors and types.

However, if you are experiencing inflamed acne, have infected areas on your skin or if you have a cystic breakout you will need to wait until those conditions clear up before coming in for your appointment.

The production of collagen and elastin can continue up to 6 months which can lead to renewed, healthier-looking skin. The appearance of fine lines are reduced as new skin replaces old. Repeating this process several times and combining it with a healthy skin care regimen will dramatically improve your skin health. Results are best seen when doing a series of 4-6, one every 4 weeks and then maintenance once or twice a year depending on your skin quality at the time of the treatment.

Immediately after the treatment you will notice a bright redness to the skin. The total healing time depends on the needle depth and the number of overlapping passes during your treatment. The needle depth chosen will depend on your skin’s needs. The skin treated may be red up to 2 to 4 days, but many patients heal completely in as little as 24 hours.

A post care treatment kit will be provided. It is highly recommended that you use the appropriate skin care products following your treatment in order to maximize your treatment results while minimizing any down time.
